If you prefer driving a manual transmission the higher cost is worth it especially if this is your daily driver. I love manual transmissions and everyday is just better because it is MT and not AT. When I bought mine back in January between the 2 dealership networks in my area (each was like 500 mile radius of stores) there were only 2 MT trucks.
I love manual transmissions. I had a manual transmission for my first and second vehicle and later my third (a motorcycle). When shopping Tacomas, I knew that I wanted the 4×4 TRD Off Road trim. I was also commuting 1+ hours to and from work; thankfully I live closer now. Given those two factors I chose the Auto transmission.
Manuals have their place. It kinda sucks that the best numbers now come from automatics because it takes a bit of our pride away. But if a manual adds or detracts from the driving experience, that is what should really matter. 1 Reply FARTBOX_DESTROYER • 6 yr. ago I mean if he was bound and determined he could definitely do it.
Answered on Jun 09, 2022. Unfortunately, not anymore. The last manual transmission Dodge Ram 2500 rolled off the line in 2018. In fact, there are only two trucks left on the market that offer the option of manual transmission: the Toyota Tacoma and the Jeep Gladiator. Some of the biggest names in trucks have ditched the manual transmission in
He’s 17. He treats cars like tinker toys. Everything fits because he learned to weld. He bought a retired police car at auction and stuck a manual transmission in it. Then he had trouble renewing the registration because the transmission didn’t match the VIN. (I’m not sure what he did about that.)

Heck, the Mercedes-AMG GT doesn’t even offer a manual transmission as an option and has a base MSRP 50 percentage points higher than the Viper’s, but it doubled the Viper’s September sales. Answer (1 of 16): Depends on a couple of things. 1. If you live in the US, a manual will be harder to find (unless it’s a base model economy car, or a Mustang

His conclusion was: “get the transmission that suits your driving desires, but in a 718 GTS 4.0 or GT4, figure the total cost of a PDK is closer to $10,000 when you factor in the initial cost of $3,700 and a 5-10% lower future resale value, assuming you intend to sell the car in 5+/- years”. But a manual transmission tempts you to abuse it. You can engage first gear while the engine is already redlining. Fuck, you can just hold it to the floor while up-shifting thru all the gears for fun “chirps”. I don’t do that anymore. I take it to the top, and time the shift for a smooth change. It feels good.
