3. The WhisperKOOL SC PRO 2000, SC PRO 3000, and SC PRO 4000 units require a dedicated 115-volt, 15-amp circuit. The WhisperKOOL SC PRO 8000 unit requires a dedicated 115-volt, 20-amp circuit. replaced my WhisperKool 4200 with WhisperKool Extreme 5000Ti, Black Rev2, WK 115v due to icing issues with original unit. After 24 hrs operation the unit already is maintaining 55. The replacement was straightforward and the new larger unit easily fit snugly into the already prepared space.
The WhisperKOOL split system is designed with a 55-degree temperature differential. That means the unit can operate effectively even if the ambient temperature outside (or where ever the condenser unit is mounted) is a scorching 110 degree heat. This is a significant improvement over most cooling units designed for wine storage.
Description. The SC PRO Series is a direct replacement for one of the most well-known cellar cooling units, the XLT. Designed for simple, through-the-wall installation, the unit fits between standard wall studs and a single piece mounting bracket eliminates the need for a support shelf. The SC PRO has a 30°F temperature differential.
I called WhisperKOOL during the design process explaining my design factors. The representative I talked with suggested I upsize my unit to the next size. As you can see to be safe I upsized my unit two sizes. We are located in Oxnard. The ambient temperature has not climbed out of the seventies since the cooler was installed.
